The Cesky Terrier, also known as Bohemian Terrier, originates from Czechoslovakia. A Czechoslovakian geneticist named Frantisek Horak, desired a terrier that would work well in open fields as well as go to ground and equally exhibit in the show ring. He took two breeds the Sealyham terrier and the Scottish terrier to create what is now known as the Cesky Terrier. The British Kennel Club granted the Cesky Terrier full registration status on January 1st 2000, until then it was placed on the imported breeds register.
